for mother's day 2013, i had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite ceramic artists, Frances Palmer, to put together a collection just for terrain. we had become connected on instagram, and when we were putting together the vision for spring, i knew her work would perfectly punctuate the season for us. Frances' pieces are beautifully refined- impeccable objects shaped with a touch of the hand. in person, they are truly breathtaking- I particularly love her footed pieces. with the collection launch, we held a pop-up flower shop at terrain at westport, hosted by Frances and friend Amy Merrick. (Amy also was the stylist, floral designer, and photographer for the beautiful images you see here). following the event, Frances welcomed us and her friends to her home for a celebratory party, and took us on a tour of her incredible barn-turned-studio, reconstructed from pieces dating back to the 1790s. fittingly, i forgot my camera- but have since realized that sometimes experiences and spaces are best remembered in the mind.
